Erick Sermon feat. Talib Kweli & Common - ‘Chillin (Lankizzle Super Mario World Remix)’

This is a dope song and particularly good execution of incorporation of a video game sample into a rap song. Normally these sorts of things sound really cheesy, but this makes it sound like a very natural sample. That being said, I cannot figure out what this Super Mario World sample is for the life of me.

I THINK it’s from when you’ve lost all your lives and you’re trying to choose whether or not to continue or not. Either that or something from the Star World?
