Mos Def :: Casa Bey :: I think this is a really interesting record. It’s dope how Mos allows his flow to dissolve throughout the course of the track, while the video itself continues to progress. It’s reminiscent of the structure one might find in late hard bop jazz, where the musician will play a riff repeatedly until it begins to unravel, taking it’s shape organically.
